Title

Damon, Inger

Description

Dr. Inger K. Damon, director of the Division of High-Consequence Pathogens and Pathology in the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, briefly reviews her career, then details her part in CDC's response to the 2014-16 Ebola epidemic. Given her leadership position in the division housing the Viral Special Pathogens Branch, Dr. Damon was involved in CDC's response from the very beginning. CDC activated its Emergency Operations Center in early July 2014, and Dr. Damon became the second incident manager overseeing the response, serving in that role from late July 2014 through March 2015.
